Pat Lentz
Guitar
Patrick Lentz, guitarist, is a GIT / Musician Institute of L.A. graduate and recipient of the Howard Roberts/Gibson Guitar Endorsement-Outstanding Student of the Year for 1986. He studied under Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, Howard Roberts and fusion guitarists Scott Henderson and Robben Ford, among many others. He has been a private instructor for many years and has shared his expertise among the Participants of the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops since 2004 as a member of the faculty.
Pat has toured with nationally known recording artists and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees such as Johnny Johnson and the Impressions. He has an extensive recording background, having produced and played on the Steve Ferguson and the Midwest Creole Ensemble album “Jack Salmon and Derby Sauce” – selected as one of the top ten Rolling Stone Magazine’s pick of the year, as well as four other albums. Although a highly experienced talent of many musical genres, Pat has dedicated his time almost exclusively to that of jazz in recent years. This includes performing with the Mike Tracy Trio and Quartet and recording on one of his most recent CDs, “Tracings.”
